Capitol Hill Day
Each year AIA leaders from across the country converge in Washington, D.C., to attend the Grassroots Leadership & Legislative Conference. During that conference, members head to Capitol Hill on a dedicated day to meet with their legislators to communicate the importance of the AIA issues agenda and strengthen relationships between Members of Congress and the architectural profession.
The 2010 Grassroots Conference in Washington D.C. takes place February 3 - 5. On Capitol Hill Day, AIA representatives meet with their representative and presentrecommendations which are pro-active and bipartisan, drawn from the ideas and concerns raised by fellow AIA members. This year, the focus is The AIA Blueprint for Economic Recovery, focusing on the following points:
- Help struggling communities rebuild.
- Unfreeze credit to get America building again.
- Encourage the commercial sector to build green.
- Provide relief for small businesses.
- Invest in our children with 21st century schools.
